How Much Does an Amazon Agency Cost?

Full channel Amazon management with us starts at $3,500 a month. PPC management on its own is $2,500 a month plus 2.5% of ad spend, DSP is 8% of ad spend with a $3,000 minimum, and the smaller scopes are priced per unit rather than retained. Every one of those figures is on its service page, and none of them is behind a form.

What you won't get here is an industry average. The published ones all trace back to agency marketing pages, they disagree with each other by a factor of five, and not one is auditable. An Amazon agency cost you can actually plan against is a specific fee, in a named shape, at your spend. So below is ours, and the arithmetic to run on anybody else's.

Amazon Agency Pricing by Engagement

The reason agency quotes are hard to compare isn't the numbers. It's that two agencies quoting “$4,000 a month” can be selling completely different scopes, and one of them may be counting your ad budget inside the figure. Each row below names the shape of the fee first, because the shape decides what happens to your bill when the account doubles.

EngagementFee shapeOur numberWho it suits
Full channel managementFlat monthly retainerStarting at $3,500/moBrands that want one senior team answerable for the whole channel, where the fee shouldn't move every time the ad budget does.
Amazon PPC managementRetainer plus a percentage of ad spend$2,500 + 2.5% of spendBrands whose advertising is the constraint. The retainer funds the work, and the percentage stays small enough that it isn't the point.
Amazon DSPPercentage of ad spend, with a floor8% of ad spend ($3K minimum)Brands running programmatic through a seat we hold and operate, where audience build and creative trafficking come attached.
Listing and SEO workPer-unit project feeStarting at $750/variationA fixed scope with a fixed price. No retainer, and you can stop after one batch.
Operations and catalog workHourly$115/hourBrands with a competent team and a specific gap, usually case work, suppressions or inbound logistics.
FBA reimbursement recoveryPercentage of what's recovered20% of recovered amountBrands who'd rather not pay for the attempt. If nothing comes back, neither does a bill.
Introductory account auditNo feeFreeAnyone deciding whether any of the above is worth buying. It's the cheapest way to find out, and it's how every engagement starts anyway.

Brand management, unauthorized seller removal, new product launches and fractional Amazon management are quoted per account rather than listed, because the work in each one varies more between two similar brands than any published number would survive. The audit produces the quote.

Run the Fee at Double Your Spend

This is the single most useful thing you can do with any agency quote, and it takes about a minute. Take the fee, work out what it costs at your current spend, then do it again at twice that. The gap tells you which of you benefits when the number moves.

On our PPC structure a brand spending $10,000 a month pays $2,750, and a brand spending $40,000 a month pays $3,500. The fee has grown 27% while the spend quadrupled. A pure percentage model would have quadrupled the fee alongside it. A pure retainer would have charged the smaller brand exactly what it charged the larger one. Neither is wrong in the abstract, and both are wrong for somebody.

We've found this is where most pricing regret actually comes from. Not from paying too much on day one, but from signing a fee shape that was fine at the spend they had and punitive at the spend they were planning. Ask the question before you sign rather than at the first renewal.

What Moves the Number

Ad spend, because the percentage part of a PPC or DSP fee sits on top of it
Catalog size, since every ASIN is its own bid surface, listing and compliance risk
Marketplace count, because each one is a separate account to structure and pace
How much brand protection the account needs, which is the line item that varies most
Creative volume, if photography and A+ content have to be produced rather than refreshed
Whether the channel needs rebuilding first, or is already working and needs running

Revenue is the one thing on nobody's list, which surprises brands. A $20M catalog of eight ASINs is less work than a $6M catalog of four hundred, and it gets quoted lower.

When Not to Hire an Amazon Agency

Under roughly $500,000 a year on Amazon, don't. A monthly retainer at that size is a fixed cost your margin probably can't carry, and what moves your number is usually operational rather than strategic. A free introductory audit will tell you more than a quarter of management would.

Don't buy management if your listings aren't converting yet either. Paid traffic pointed at a listing that doesn't convert raises your cost per sale, not your revenue, and listing work priced per variation is the cheaper first purchase. And if what you want is to be taught how to run Amazon yourself, that's coaching rather than an agency. Some people do it well. We don't do it at all.

What the Fee Bought

Three accounts, three different engagements, and the numbers they produced. The True Classic launch is the clearest read on what a full engagement does in its first six weeks.

Amazon Agency Cost: Common Questions

The quote comes after the audit

Starting at $3,500/mo

That's where full channel management starts. Every other engagement and its number is on the services page. We quote the specific one after the audit, because before means guessing, and the audit is free either way.
